About how much more money do you make being a college graduate versus a high school graduate?

About how much more money do you make being a college graduate versus a high school graduate? Also, about how much money do you make per year if you leave college for professional careers in sports? Please cite sources. Thanks!
Well, I need just a average if it’s possible. I have to do a paper for LA in school and I researched it on the Internet. The websites varied, so I just thought I would ask on here.

Use the US census numbers, these should be the most accurate and seen as an official source. Looks like the high school grad makes about 30K, and the college grade makes about 45K. That’s a 50% increase, so clearly significant.

Depends. Sports only last so long and surprising the pay is not that great, my dad has a friend who plays MLB the pay for White Socks is about 60,000 a year. But you can make a good amount of money if you are a college graduate depending on job choice.

With only a high school degree you are a commodity – hired labor. Thus, unless you can join a union you are looking at minimum wage jobs. As you can see happening in the Auto Industry, because we compete in a world economy, meaning the wage is determined on a world scale, unions are losing all their power. If the union forces wages up, the company moves their plants to China (or goes out of business).

You need to differentiate yourself by going to college or at least a technical school so that you aren’t a commodity.

I would say high school grads earn 18,000 – 35,000 annually while college grads earn 32,000 to 100,000 per year. Post graduate degrees earn more.

Do the math, a college degree is the ticket needed to be middle class in the future.
