I have been self-employed for many years and would never consider going back into the work force.
Usually it involves marketing a product, sometimes a service, depending on which company you choose.
Start up costs vary, mine is $35 plus one case of product. If you treat it like a million dollar business and really get out there and get customers, there is no cap on your salary. You are paid in direct proportion to the amount of work that you do.
If you are convinced your product can help people, like I am, it’s easy to sell. You just identify the needs of your customers and show them why they would benefit from it.
Incomes of $10-$20k are definately not unusual in this business.
