I am planning on moving out of my house and going away to college in the near future. I work a full time job. Mon-Friday from 9am -6pm. I’m saving up as much as I can but I need to find ways to make a little extra money. I was considering trying to sell some of my old stuff that I no longer use. any other ideas?
You could:
1. Tend Bar and make good tips
2. Wait tables
3. Get a roommate (helps with bills and saves you some money)
4. Try bartering. When our son went off to college 7 years ago he had almost no money. So he worked odd jobs and he would hit restaurants close to closing time. He’d ask them how their computer systems were running and if they said lousy he would come back with "give me your left-overs at the end of the night and I will get your systems up and running and will keep them that way. Or he’d try a bakery and in exchange for cleaning the floors and bathrooms they would give him the day’s leftovers – like a loaf of bread and cookies, etc.
You know what you’re capable of doing. Get creative and figure out what your gifts are and see what you can barter them for.
Good Luck.
If you like kids maybe you could try babysitting. Or volunteer for things like would make you some extra money.
