   Do both! Back links are crucial to promoting your blog and getting it into the search engines and driving traffic. Directory submission is also important, especially regarding web 2.0 networking sites. Also make sure that you ping your blog every time you update it.

   Many make the mistake of believing that once they create a blog, people will immediately flock to it. There are millions out there so why would they visit your blog?

   Here are some ways you can promote your blog

   1. Create great content – everything starts with great content. Think ‘Linkbait" — or writing about stuff that would be so great that people will want to link to you. It can be a news hook where you write about something that is contrary to what everyone else is saying; resource hook where you have the only information available or humor hook.

   2. Update the content regularly – make your visitors come back again and again to your blog by providing daily updates (even multiple posts per day!)

   10. Submit articles with your blog posts. Write articles and submit them to websites accepting author submissions. You get exposure for your business; establishes you as an authority in your field, and allows you to get backlinks for your website.    I tried to check out your blog, but didn’t see any content on the site. If this isn’t a tech prob then I say get to writing asap!

   I would also suggest networking with other bloggers, especially bloggers who write about similar topics. You can do this by emailing, as suggested, or even just reading their blogs and commenting on them to start a dialog. If you have a good blog, and make relevant comments many friendly bloggers will link back to you in their "blogroll".

   Also, don’t forget about pinging. Most blogging software allow you to configure your blog to automatically to ping sites which automatically let them know you’ve updated your blog when you post something new without you having to do anything.
