help on making money through internet publishing sites?

i can’t really get an actual job right because of transportations problems, etc, but i figured it would be nice to make a few bucks off those websites where you can write articles and they publish it for some money. i’d probably be interested in writing about sports(specifically football) so does anyone know any websites? and also i’ve been looking at triond recently does anyone know like how much that pays, how hard it is to get an article published etc?
