I am trying to find legit typing work from home w/no scams or money up front. Any suggestions?

I have searched the internet & it always comes down to the prospective employer wanting money. I am temporarily disabled but need income & would like to find work typing from home. I am a good typist & have high speed internet access as well as numerous software programs. However, all I see on the internet appear to be scams. Is there any legit typing work at home?
I have came across a few companies that hire disabled people to work from home, most of which is phone work I think but they seemed like good paying positions. Check out http://www.wahm.com message boards as the companies have been discussed several times on the telecommuting mom’s board. It’s also a good community to network with. Another site that will be useful to you is http://workathomedesk.com which is a free site with a directory of legitimate companies that hire telecommuters. It can be hard to find straight typing/data entry jobs, so you will most likely find jobs that will use those skills in conjunction with other job duties, like at home customer care representative, transcription, writer, proofreader, editor, blogger, telemarketing from home, mystery shopping, virtual assistant, and freelance projects.
Good luck!

Unfortunately Most of what you see on the Internet as far
as typing jobs are just outright scams. Your best bet
is to post your resume with monster.com or Career Builder
here is one you have to pay for but at least it will lead to real work.

Contact local commercial printers and digital print centers and let them know what you are capable of. The work they can give you is often infrequent, but with 25 reliable contacts you should get all the work you want. Fonts, layout, graphics are a plus and something you should look into getting training for. Typing only the going rate is probably about $9 per page. Layout and design moves to $25 per page. Be patient and be available. Offer to work weekends and/or overnight as necessary. Seek those that publish small runs, as they appeal to independent creatives that still write on paper!

If you are an accomplished typist – word processor and have recently visited your local city college or university librarian, you can apply as a "certified" graduate typist, earning between $1.50 to $2.00 per page for a master or doctoral thesis. The librarian will provide you with a sample of the typing template (i.e., margin settings, font selection, page set up, etc.) in order to complete these projects. An average weekend income is about $300-$400 for two days work.
Good luck!
