Flea markets used to be another term for white elephant sales. Getting rid of things in your closet, garage or basement.

People found out they could sell this stuff even faster and at a bit of a higher price if a bunch of them got together, because more people would come to these events because there was more to look at in one place. Then this graduated to people actually incorporating into small businesses and not have to pay for a building, lights etc.

It’s a good way to make some money on the cheap. Go to a flea market, see what seems to be selling. Gotta warn you, though, it changes as peoples needs and wants change. So stay flexible with what you are looking to sell.

If the ebook is in public domain, sure you could sell it, but make sure it is public domain. Gotta be real careful about stuff on the internet, e-books included.

I have a friend who is into arts and crafts, sometimes she does absolutely fantastic and other times she wonders why she showed up at all. So in this economy right now, I’d go for the things that people need, sort of.

Selling digital products can take a bit more work than just putting them on some website and hoping people will buy.

You’ll need to actually interact with people before they will buy them, it’s also helpful to put a few excerpts of what they are filled with.

Why should someone buy your e-book? Is there some way you can add value to them? If you have several of them, could you consider giving one away free to someone who was willing to give you contact information?

It’s not hard to sell them from your own website if you want, this way you don’t have to pay monthly fees or a commission. (well, unless you count the hosting, the key here is to find alternate uses for your website at the same time)

Doing it this way gives you some presence and you can put other tools up there (such as mailing lists and specials). The big thing is to make it possible for people to interact with you.

There are other tools as well, you could write your own if you were so inclined. (just be careful no one can send a bogus "IPN event")

I tried to sell a digital product on ebay once. (domain name) Didn’t go so good. Ended up costing me money.

People aren’t usually in a hurry when it comes to stuff like that, you have to be patient. (hence, your web host should serve dual purposes)

Forums are message boards.

Blogs are chronological post websites. (Think, online diary or journal for example.)

It’s really not necessary to purchase anything to get started making money online. I make a substantial living with AdSense and affiliate programs through Commission Junction and even Amazon.
