But it’s always full of at least soft lies: pictures of burgers that you’ll never eat, birds flying on beautiful days (so what?), beautiful fit people drinking Duff beer, people happy with Brand X but grimace using Brand Y, "We’re the best, you’ll love us", "plus shipping and handling" which turns out to be a major hidden charge, etc.

Even facts can be misleading: "Contains no trans-fatty acids!" implying that it is good for you, but it is loaded with other grease and sugar.

My friend’s blog is receiving a lot of traffic redirected from www.traffictaxi.net. And we are both flummoxed. What is Traffic Taxi, and how does the system work? I have seen several web marketing strategies, but this one has me bewildered.

Stuff like this makes me laugh. Sure your getting traffic, but what kind of traffic? There is something in the internet advertising industry called a "return on investment". That means that you must at least, get back in revenue what you spend on internet advertising. This includes outfits like the one you mentioned. If all your interested in is traffic and your not selling anything, you got what you wanted. Keep in mind that the traffic you are getting may not be the kind of visitors you want your site viewers to be. The only way for you to know this is to check where your traffic is coming from and perhaps offer some incentive for visitors to fill in a feedback clip for you. Most users take advantage of services like the one you are using for network coverage only and spend very little on the advertising. The more your website comes up on many different networks, the more important Google will think you are. And Google is god, make no mistake about it. If you advertise with Google, Yahoo and MSN you will drive an unbelievable amount of traffic to your website, but it will cost some big bucks. And you have to know the tricks. It’s not as easy as you think. That’s why there are companies that specialize in targeting internet traffic. The competition is relentless.

I would love to one day quit my job in advertising and become a full-time Internet marketer. How cool would that be to stay home and work a couple hours a day? Since I already have a background in advertising, I know some things about Internet marketing, but I am looking for a reliable source or website where I can learn the ins and outs so I can finally quit my job and make some money online. Anyone know of such a source or website?

I have been following Matt Bacak for a while and I have learned so much from him. He actually coaches people on how to become successful at Internet marketing and gives them step-by-step directions to help them along. Oh, yea the guy is an absolute millionaire with his own plan and a million dollar home and I believe that he is only in his 30′s!

What I like about Matt Bacak is that he is not one of those top Internet marketers that tries to scam people in order to make their millions. He is actually down to earth and knows what it feels like to start out with nothing while trying to break into Internet marketing. I would recommend you check out his website and blog, www.mattbacak.com, and see what he has to offer. I know that he has both a free newsletter and a subscription newsletter that he gives out, so you may want to check those out along with his website info. Good luck!

Hi everyone,
I have recently built a website and decided to put AdSense ads on it. I have been trying different methods of driving traffic to the page, including making use of auction listings on auction websites, creating classified ads on classified ads sites, posting links in forums, submitting search engine optimized articles to article directories, and even made use of sites such as yahoo answers. Does anyone here have any experience in driving low cost targeted visitors (less than 1 cent per visitor) to web pages? I am looking to build traffic of at least 500 targeted visitors daily. Unfortunately, the website is not too attractive looking, even though it contains quality content. Also, I do not plan on updating the site in the near future. Please share your thoughts. Thank you very much.
I would really prefer not to leave the address in the question. It is a "work-at-home" articles site. Not too attractive looking, very plain html. The website features quite a few unique "how-to make money doing ______" type articles. I hope this helps to clarify the question. Currently, about 1 in 50 visitors are repeat visitors.

I use autosurf programs like http://www.topsurfing.net to get free hits to my site. They help a lot in getting your website higher in the search engines. I also have never paid for any advertising and my sites do well in search engines.

www.dankennedy.com – Dan’s the "no BS" guy, his style is a bit gruff and he’s anti-establishment on a lot of marketing topics, but he has the results to back up everything he recommends. Much of his stuff is for sale, and I should disclose that I have spent thousands of dollars with him and been delighted every time. I can easily point to him as the single biggest reason my income has doubled since 3 years ago.

www.thegaryhalbertletter.com – be warned that Gary is a bit of an eccentric genius, and at times is just plain vulgar. But he’s generally regarded as the best ad copywriter alive today, and his entire newsletter archives are online for free. I believe he still holds the record for the top-selling direct mail sales letter of all time.

www.entrepreneur.com – good stuff, mostly "conventional wisdom" and somewhat "Basics" but it covers a wide range of topics.

Bonuses, just because I like your question:
www.wilsonweb.com – Dr. Ralph Wilson has a "for fee" article library that’s very cheap and well worth it for anybody doing internet marketing.

www.marketingsherpa.com – also internet-oriented, Anne Holland and her team do a great job of getting real-world case studies from big-name companies and sharing results and best practices. Sign up for her newsletter, the articles are free for the first few days after each issue, then they go to "paid" after that.

By the way, sign up for all of these folks email lists, it’s all high-quality stuff and except for Mr Halbert it’s never hard-sale.

Good luck,
Scott
