Linking Methods – Out with Old, In with the New

Internet marketing is an important part of running an online business. It is the fastest growing advertising method for all business (online AND off line) in this day and age. Typical Internet marketing revolves around a drive to get more traffic, no matter what. Traffic to a website is the key to the success of Internet business.
In simple terms, Internet marketing is the process of growing and promoting your presence online. While there are hundreds of online marketing techniques, the most common, and most misunderstood, forms of Internet marketing today is link building.
Link building is a pretty general term. It is used to describe anything you do to build links back to a website to increase natural traffic. The more inbound links you have pointing to your site, the more traffic you would receive from search engines. While this sounds simple enough, link building has changed considerably in the past 5 years.
For example, in the ‘old days’ web masters would build links by submitting their URLS to link farms, develop reciprocal links, or purchase links to increase the number of links back to their web site.
You can’t rely on these methods anymore.
